Artistic Discoveries in European Schoolyards

Eva Rottmann

Born 1983 in Würzburg (Germany). After finishing school she worked for one year at „Junges Theater Bonn“ and decided to become a theatre educator/drama teacher. From 2004 till 2008 she studied at the acting school in Zurich (Zürcher Hochschule der Künste) and realised many projects with mainly non-professionell actors (children, teenager, adults, seniors). During her time as a student she also participated at the European theatre project „Magic Net“. Also she took part at „Schreib für die Bühne“ (“write for stage”), a workshop for young authors, and wrote „Eidechsen und Salaman- der“. This play won two awards and had debut performance in June 09 in Dinslaken (Germany). From Oct. 08 till June 09 she participated at a programme for young drama at Theatre Basel („Stücklabor“) and wrote the play „Skills“, a play about young skateboarders, which won the Audience Award. From Sept. 08 till June 09 (after finishing acting school) she also worked as a free drama teacher, director and did some own performances as an actor. In August 09 she started to work as a drama teacher at „Junges Schauspielhaus Zurich“.
